I think this hotel is a real gem! The only downside is the location. We used it as a stopover whilst travelling from Wexford to Galway and for that reason it was perfect. The hotel itself is lovely-the room we had was fantastic-spotlessly clean, spacious and airy.Staff were excellent and the bakery open in the hotel reception area is ideal for a spot of afternoon tea!

Everything's wonderful. The breakfast was a mixture of Irish and continental. Perfectly adequate. The staff was friendly. Room would probably be three stars by German standards, but completely ok, clean and big enough.

Although the rooms are listed as non-smoking rooms, the room reeked of smoke. But we were immediately given another room on request. We found the bathing rules a little strange: children were not allowed to use the pool after 7 p.m., bathing caps had to be worn/bought. But you still were not allowed to dive.

We stayed in a standard room with an electric kettle, an individual safe and central heating. The location turned out to be peaceful, adjacent to the catholic cathedral on Sunday and the conference centre. It also was in a lively pub.
